If April was about staying close to home, May was all about hitting the road. This month was an absolute powerhouse for the mission, bringing in a massive 24 cats and pushing us to a brand new milestone. Between local neighborhood patrols and a trip to one of the most famous feline establishments in the country, May delivered in spades. We also had Mittens spayed to make sure she didn’t mate with her dad, leavinbg just Sparkles able to have kittens. Check out her camo body suit!
The Local Legends and Mission Hazards
The month featured a fantastic tour of Devon’s friendly neighborhood cats. I managed to cross paths with a sweet kitty in Dawlish, a very welcoming feline at St Mary the Virgin Church, a lovely local tabby, and a kitty in Bovey Tracey.
However, no grand adventure is without its risks. The mission encountered its first true workplace hazard in the form of a calico who we named “Mr Bitey.” Let’s just say he lived up to his title. Sometimes you have to risk life, limb, and fingers for the sake of the mission!
The Mother of All Cat Cafes
The real heavy lifting this month was done in London. I finally made the pilgrimage to the legendary Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium. As one of the most well-known cat cafes around, my expectations were high, and they absolutely delivered. A staggering 19 cats were added to the tally from this single visit! When you need bulk numbers for a 1,000-cat mission, an emporium is exactly where you go.
