October brought in a solid 9 cats, pushing the tracker dangerously close to the big 100 milestone. This month featured a fantastic mix of local legends, scenic routes, and a very unique establishment.
Teddie the Local Celebrity
Every neighborhood has that one cat, and around here, it’s Teddie. Teddie is a bit of a local celebrity, famous primarily for his absolute inability to figure out where he lives. He gets lost constantly, and this month, his wandering paws led him right to my house. It resulted in some welcome petting for him before getting sorted out, and a solid plus one for the mission.
Bridge 114 Canal Kitty
The mission took to the waterways this month with a trip along the beautiful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Right around Bridge 114, a very accommodating canal-side kitty decided to wander over and say hello. It just proves that you always have to keep your eyes peeled for felines, even when you’re busy admiring the Welsh scenery. I didn’t get a photo of this cutey, but here’s a photo from the canal.
Pints and Purrs at the Bag of Nails
Why just go to a regular pub when you can go to a cat pub? A trip to Bristol meant a mandatory stop at the legendary Bag of Nails. Enjoying a good pint while hanging out with the resident bar cats is an absolute dream scenario. This is such a cool place. It’s not a ‘cat pub’ as such, it’s a pub where the owners cats all hang out in the bar. Obviously neeed to ahve a pint with them. Three cats were successfully petted over drinks. Not even sure why I didn’t get any photos, must have been over excited by the cats and beer.
Pandy’s Kittens Return
Rounding out the month was another delightful encounter with Pandy’s kittens. Pandy had a litter of 4 healthy kittens who just neeed to be petted as soon as mum would let me.
