If August was a respectable month, September was an absolute blockbuster. We hauled in a massive 26 cats, proving once again that if you want to inflate your petting statistics, you have to go straight to the professionals.
Cool for Cats Cat Cafe
This month involved a highly strategic, two-pronged attack on local cat cafes. First up was the Cool for Cats Cat Cafe in Newton Abbot, which yielded an incredibly generous 14 cats. It’s hard to beat the efficiency of having more than a dozen felines in a single room, all ready to contribute to the mission. This is (was, closed at the time of writing) a lovely cat cafe that has a mixture of the owner’s own cats and rescue cats.
Not stopping there, I also paid a visit to the brilliantly named Shakespaw Cat Cafe in Stratford-upon-Avon. To pet, or not to pet? That is a ridiculous question when there are numbers to hit. Shakespaw delivered another 9 fantastic cats to the tracker. The cafe is very small but has some lovely foster cats.
The Chiropractic Assistant
My final feline encounter of the month happened in a slightly less conventional setting. There is a chiropracter clinic near my house that often has a really friendly cat hanging around and, I am told, sometimes inside the clinic. Honestly, a pre-adjustment purr and some tactical petting is exactly the kind of holistic therapy every medical practice should offer.
